Diet management is very crucial in the management of diabetes mellitus and also important for persons those are in the pre-diabetic phase. Importance of diet in diabetic patients either on oral medicines or Insulin injection is known to everyone.
Here, you will find Indian diet chart for diabetic patient, but keep in mind everybody needs calorie intake according to their age, sex, weight and physical activity. So it is better to consult a dietician before following any advice. (This diabetic diet is for average weight with moderately active Indian male).
Below is an Indian diet chart for diabetic patient and list of foods for diabetics.
Early morning -
- One cup tea /Fresh coconut water + 10-15 pcs dry fruit
- (no kishmish).
Breakfast-
- Milk Daliya/ besan cheela/ or
- stuffed chapati with curd /Idli sambhar/eggs(2).
Mid-morning-
- Fresh cut fruit 150 grams.
Lunch-
- 2 multigrain chapati
- Dal/ Paneer/ non veg 1 Katorie
- Seasonal vegetables
- 1 KatoriPlain curd One Katori
- No chutney
- Fresh cut salad 100 grams.
Evening
- Coffee or tea 1 cup
- Roasted Chana.
Pre dinner
- Fresh cut fruit 150 gram/ homemade soap 1 bowl.
Dinner
- 2 multigrain chapati
- Dal/ Paneer/ non veg 1 Katorie
- Seasonal vegetables 1 Katori
- Plain curd One Katori
- No chutney
- Fresh cut salad 100 grams.
Bedtime
- Milk + haldi or Anjeer milk 200 ml.
